Marshals: Man wanted in 2003 VA slaying arrested in Lincolnton

LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — A man wanted in connection with a 2003 murder was arrested Thursday in Lincolnton by U.S. marshals.
 
Shawn Greer, of Lincolnton, was wanted by the Norfolk, Virginia, Police Department for murder, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and conspiracy to commit a felony.
 
The charges stemmed from a Sept. 18, 2003, incident where a victim was found inside a burning vehicle.
 
After conducting interviews and following up on numerous leads, Greer was found at 116 Lakewood Drive, Lincolnton. 
 
Greer was taken into custody without incident and confined in the Lincoln County Jail, pending extradition to Virginia.
