RALEIGH — The North Carolina Department of Transportation released a second map of 41 proposed electric vehicle charging station sites in the Tar Heel State.
[ NC reaches goal 2 years early for number of electric cars on the road ]
In January, 11 initial locations were identified along an “alternative fuel corridor” where there are fewer charging stations.
Thirty-six are in Eastern North Carolina and five are in Western North Carolina.
NCDOT has been allocated $109 million from the national electric vehicle infrastructure program, part of a $5 billion bipartisan law enacted in 2021 by the Biden-Harris administration to build these corridors.
