MOORESVILLE, N.C. — It took new Lowe’s Cos. Inc. CEO Marvin Ellison only a week on the job to completely restructure the C-level organization at the Mooresville-based home-improvement chain.

Lowe’s Cos. Inc. announced this week that he’s tossing the chief operating officer and chief customer officer jobs along with other C-suite positions and lesser jobs. Ellison started his new job on July 2.

“We have taken a fresh look at our organizational structure and are realigning our leadership team to improve our focus, better leverage Lowe’s omni-channel capabilities and deliver increased value for our customers, associates and shareholders,” Ellison says.

Forbes reported Ellison also shook things up at J.C. Penney Co. Inc., his former employer, but it took him a while to do it.
