Arrest made in armed robbery at Albemarle Walmart, police say

ALBEMARLE, N.C. — Nigel Donovan Moore, of Salisbury, was arrested two days after allegedly holding up a cashier at gunpoint Tuesday night at the Walmart in Albemarle, police said.

Moore entered the Walmart at about 10:20 p.m. and walked up to the cashier, took out a handgun and stole money from the cashier before leaving the store, police said.

No one was injured during the crime.

Moore was charged with robbery with dangerous weapon, assault by pointing a firearm, and carrying a concealed weapon. Additional charges are pending.

He was given a $100,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 10.
