ROCK HILL, S.C. — Police obtained a photo of the suspected vehicle belonging to a man who tried to abduct two girls, ages 10 and 11 years old, while they were walking home from a school bus stop on Oct. 15 in Rock Hill.

According to police, the girls, who are cousins, had just gotten off the school bus in front of an apartment complex on Patriot Parkway around 4 p.m. when they said they spotted a man in a burgundy or maroon Nissan SUV circling around.

The girls said the man got out of the SUV, grabbed one of them by her backpack and asked them to go to a park.

Police said the man eventually let go of the backpack, and that's when the girls ran home screaming and told a family member what happened.

The suspect wore what was described as a uniform with a black-collared shirt with writing similar to a business logo on the front.

He also wore khaki pants and Nike shoes.

"We treat every report of this nature very (seriously)," Rock Hill Police Lt. Michael Chavis said. "So, first thing this morning, our detectives were out canvassing the area."

Channel 9's South Carolina bureau reporter Greg Suskin talked to Bryan Archilla who just moved into the same apartment complex where the incident happened.

"It's always a little bit of disbelief, in terms of, that really does happen in an area that I consider to be somewhat safe," Archilla said.
