ANSON COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies in Anson County are investigating a homicide after the man was shot and killed as he drove on Airport Road in Wadesboro on March 17, according to the sheriff’s office. The initial call deputies responded to was a traffic accident, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies identified the victim as 19-year-old Tony Ahmad Gainey from Wadesboro.
Deputies arrested Richard Jamile Ennis, 19, and Taqual Hakeem McCants, 18, both of Wadesboro. A juvenile was also arrested. Ennis and McCants were charged with murder and are in custody
The juvenile has been served with a juvenile petition for murder and is being held at a juvenile detention facility.
