CHARLOTTE N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have arrested the man they said shot another man inside a northeast Charlotte restaurant last week.
George Irving Rivens, also known as Tan, was wanted on outstanding warrants for assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, robbery with a dangerous weapon and discharging a firearm in the city limits.
Police told Channel 9 that they found Rivens and took him into custody without incident early Wednesday morning.

Police said he shot a 27-year-old man Thursday in the men's restroom at the Longhorn Steakhouse on Old Mallard Creek Road in University City.
The victim was shot in the legs and is in critical condition but is expected to recover, police say.
"The incident we do not believe was a random act," Capt. Brian Foley said.
Foley said there may have been trouble between Rivens and victim when they ran into each other inside the restaurant.
"We don't think that the victim and suspect arrived at the same location to meet each other, however they encountered each other in the restaurant and as a result of that encounter you have an incident that occurred inside the restaurant," Foley said.
