SPARTANBURG, S.C. — A man sent to prison for a burglary in Chester escaped from a pre-release center in Spartanburg, said officials with the South Carolina Department of Corrections.
Shane Adams, 39, has since been recaptured, officials said.
He was sentenced to 15 years for the first-degree burglary charge.
He had been at the minimum security facility since May 24, which lets prisoners get a GED and work training before they are released.
