CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — A college student home for the summer told Chesterfield County sheriff’s deputies that a stranger tried to kidnap her while she was jogging.
The attempted kidnapping happened Monday morning on E. Jackson Road outside of Chesterfield. She told investigators that the man pulled up in a car and asked her if she wanted a ride.
The stranger pulled in front of her and tried to block her with his car while she was jogging, she said. She ran away and immediately called 911.
The suspect, Emilio Torres, was caught minutes later because the victim gave deputies a good description of the car, deputies said.
