ALEXANDER COUNTY, N.C. — A 62-year-old man was killed in an accidental fire, Alexander County investigators said.
The fire broke out around 1 a.m. Monday at a home along Pine Lane, which is in the Bethlehem community south of Taylorsville.
Firefighters said when they arrived at the home, flames were coming out of a front window.
According to the fire marshal, the fire started accidentally and could have been caused by discarded smoking material.
No further information was released.
