Man calls 911 for ride to work, gets ride to jail instead, police say

A man who was on probation is back in jail after police said he called 911 in Gaston County asking for a ride to work, the Gaston Gazette reports.

Police said Xzavier Lipscomb, 22, was told by dispatchers that police do not provide rides to work.

Dispatchers said Lipscomb became irate and started cussing at the 911 operator.

Lipscomb was on probation for an assault and battery conviction from May.

He was charged with misuse of the 911 system and a probation violation.
