CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say a man was found shot to death on a South End road early Saturday morning and the suspected shooter will not face charges at this time.
Officials were called around 2 a.m. to West Summit Avenue near South Tryon Street where they found 30-year-old Jervon Sloan with a gunshot wound lying in the street.

MEDIC pronounced Sloan dead at the scene.
A second man showed up later at Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center after being shot in the same incident, but is expected to be OK, officials said.
A shooter was identified and interviewed, but police said he would not be charged at this time.
Officials said the district attorney will review the decision, but the shooter's name will not be released unless he is officially charged.
After the shooting, some who live and work in the area told Eyewitness News anchor Blaine Tolison they have an uneasy feeling.
"When you hear about things like this, it's definitely really sad for the community," resident Ryan Horgan said. "South End is one of my favorite places in Charlotte."
"It kind of makes people a little bit more nervous about going out and experiencing new things in the area," neighbor Cameron McCurty.
