CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One man was killed and another hospitalized following an overnight shooting outside a north Charlotte bank.
Police were called to the Wells Fargo branch on North Tryon Street around 1:45 a.m. and found a man who was shot to death inside a car.

Channel 9 crews could see that a window of the car was shot out and evidence markers were scattered on the ground outside the vehicle.
Officers found a second man nearby who had also been shot. He was taken to the hospital but is expected to be OK.
Channel 9 crews spotted police taking another man into custody, but police have not announced any charges.
Detectives said they are questioning him and are not looking for anyone else.

“Certainly, we would encourage people to be aware of their surroundings coming to ATMs, particularly early hours of the morning,” said CMPD Major Allen Rutledge. “So, certainly be aware of your surroundings.”
Police have not identified the victim or released a motive.
The investigation is ongoing.
