CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A third person has been charged Saturday in connection with shooting a 59-year-old Charlotte man, officials said.
Police said they found Melvin E. Bell, 59, in early May shot to death on a southeast Charlotte road.
Kendale Burris, 23, was charged with accessory after the fact to first-degree murder.

Earlier in the week, Datarius McHam, 22, has been charged with murder and Zsaquan Burris, 21, has been charged with accessory after the fact to first-degree murder.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said they found Bell around 11:15 p.m. on Washburn Avenue near Monroe Road after hearing the shots in the area while on another call.
The slaying marks Charlotte's 49th homicide of 2019.
