GASTONIA, N.C. — Authorities have arrested a suspect after a man was found shot to death Sunday night in Gastonia.
According to police, officers were called around 8 p.m. to a shooting on Shannon Bradley Road near Interstate 85.
Officers said when they got there, they found 49-year-old Virgil Stokes dead from a gunshot wound.
Police said 33-year-old Leon Currence was arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree murder.
Authorities have not said what led up to the shooting.
