Man accidentally killed friend when gun he was cleaning fired, deputies say

YORK COUNTY, S.C. — Deputies are investigating after a man was shot and killed Thursday night in York County.

The incident happened on Pearl Street.

Deputies said a man was taking apart his 9mm handgun when it accidentally fired. They said the bullet hit the man’s hand and then struck his friend, killing him.

The victim’s name has not been released at this point.
