Man faces life in prison for takeover-style bank robbery in South End

CHARLOTTE — A man is facing life in prison for a takeover-style bank robbery that occurred in Charlotte.

Kendall Alexander Sr. was convicted by a jury on Tuesday.

Prosecutors said he and two other men, armed with rifles, stormed into a South End Bank of America and robbed it.

Channel 9 Skyzon captured the incident when it unfolded on South Boulevard in October of 2021.

Prosecutors said Alexander had prior convictions, including attempted murder of a federal officer.

However, a sentencing date has yet to be set.
