Man faces charges for road rage shooting in Cornelius

CORNELIUS, N.C. — A man is facing charges for a road rage shooting in Cornelius.

Police said Caden Asher Ellis, 24, shot into another car near West Catawba Avenue and Westmoreland Road around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday. Ellis left the scene after the shooting, Cornelius police said.

Investigators said the other driver was not hurt.

Officers said the shooting was isolated and it stemmed from a road rage incident.

Ellis was charged assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, discharging a firearm within city limits, carrying concealed weapon, and injury to personal property. He is being held at the Mecklenburg County jail.
