CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are trying to identify a man who exposed himself to a 15-year old girl at a southeast Charlotte Walmart Thursday night.

The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. at the store on Galleria Boulevard.

A woman and her 15-year old daughter were shopping in the electronics section when they said a man exposed himself to the teenager and motioned for her to come to the back of the store. The women told the manager, who called police.

The store and surrounding shopping center were busy with holiday shoppers all day Friday. Some customers were shocked to hear about the crime.

“It’s kind of scary and it’s bad for shoppers out this time of year because maybe some of them have families, have their kids with them and you know, you’re probably afraid,” Cheryl Little said.

Police told Channel 9 they have surveillance video, but it does not show the man exposing himself because of the angle of the camera. They also said they could not get a good look at his face.

The man was described as a black male in his 30’s who weighs about 300 pounds and was wearing a white hat and black coat with a fur collar.
