Man dead after driven to hospital with gunshot wound, Chester police say

CHESTER, S.C. — Police are searching for the person they said shot and killed a man Tuesday night in Chester.

Officers said 36-year-old Andrew Johnson was shot and driven to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities told Channel 9 they received a call for shots fired in the Brawley Street and York Street area, but it was not clear where exactly the shooting happened.

No arrests have been made and police have not released any more details.
