ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Police said a man is dead and two others are hurt after a shooting outside a bar in Asheville early Saturday, WLOS reported.

Officers responded to the scene just after 1 a.m. at Westville Pub at 777 Haywood Road.

Authorities said 31-year-old Keith Blair died, and one of the two others hurt was in critical condition.

According to police, they found over 30 shell casings at the scene and seven vehicles hit by bullets.

Westville Pub posted the following statement on their Facebook about the shooting:

“A currently unidentified suspect opened fire at our patrons and staff, leaving one man dead, another critically injured, and several patrons wounded as a result of the chaos of trying to evade the suspect.

We are saddened by the pain and loss of this event and we hurt for our fellow families and patrons affected by it. That said, we don’t tolerate any form of violence in our pub and we will not let this incident define who we are.”

The bar said it will remain closed for the rest of Saturday, but is expected to reopen Sunday.

No other details have been released at this point.
