GASTONIA, N.C. — A Cleveland County man was charged in connection with the prostitution of a minor.
An Eyewitness News camera was there when a magistrate in Gastonia formally charged Carlos Washington.
He was arrested in Gastonia but indicted by a grand jury in Shelby.
Shelby police charged him with the first-degree kidnapping and rape of a young girl in July.
He’s also charged with soliciting rape of a minor.
The victim was afraid to come forward at first.
