CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police arrested and charged a man with raping a woman that he met on a dating site earlier this month.
The woman told Channel 9 that 25-year-old Terraries Thomas came to the door of her apartment on Mossburn Road around noon Dec. 1 looking for directions. She said he pulled out a gun and raped her.
However, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department sent Channel 9 a release Monday evening saying the woman met Thomas on a dating site and invited him to her home.
Officers said while inside, Thomas pulled out a gun and raped the woman before robbing her and leaving.
"I’m surprised and disturbed,” neighbor Londa Holiday said.
Thomas was charged with two counts of first-degree rape, two counts of first-degree sex offense, first-degree kidnapping, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
He has also been charged with a car theft that happened on Nov. 28 at a south Charlotte apartment complex and with breaking into a family’s south Charlotte home on Dec. 11.
