CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The man accused of robbing two women and sexually assaulting one of them in uptown Charlotte early Friday is expected to appear in court Monday.
Authorities said that around 4 a.m., two women were walking near a construction area on West Sixth Street northwest of North Graham Street when a man with a gun approached them.
The man threatened both women and sexually assaulted one of them, according to investigators. The man also robbed the women and fired the gun, though neither victim was shot.

CMPD told Channel 9 veteran crime reporter Mark Becker that the woman who was not assaulted was able to pick up an object and hit the alleged attacker in the head.
That caused the attacker to take off running.
At 4:07 a.m., a concerned person who heard the gunshot and the victims yelling for help called 911.
Officers showed up quickly and found the suspect, who they said tried to run away. He was chased down by police and taken into custody. Officers said they also found the gun.
The suspect was identified as 21-year-old Jordan Bryson-Antonio Douglas.
Police said the woman who was sexually assaulted was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Douglas was also taken to a hospital because of minor injuries he received while struggling with one of the victims. He was released from the hospital and taken into custody, charged with two counts of first-degree sex offense, two counts of first-degree kidnapping, two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
Channel 9 found out Douglas has been arrested 10 times in the last three years, including once for another armed robbery.
Neighbors said they are now fearing for their safety in uptown Charlotte after recent cases.
"I used to think downtown was the safest place in Charlotte, but now I'm wondering if it's not," Shawnell Britt said.
