WADESBORO, N.C. — It’s been nearly two years since gun violence shattered the lives of two local talented teens.

In January 2020, gunshots rang out after a pickup basketball game in Wadesboro, killing 16-year-old Malik Byrd. His cousin, Chrishaun Hough, survived the shooting and has been in a wheelchair ever since.
