Major corporate player in region downsizing HQ office

CHARLOTTE — Ingersoll Rand Inc. will move its Davidson headquarters to a significantly smaller location this fall, leasing space from a customer based in that same town.

Spokeswoman Misty Zelent says Ingersoll Rand will lease two floors at 525 Harbor Place from MSC Industrial Supply Co., which owns the building. MSC is a public company that lists Melville, New York, and Davidson as its headquarters.

The company reevaluated its needs for space after the Covid-19 pandemic demonstrated that hybrid schedules worked well, allowing some of its employees to work remotely, Zelent says.
