CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Madison Merrifield, 20, who was diagnosed with mouth cancer at 8 years old, will have reconstructive surgery on her jaw next month.

The surgery will give her a set of teeth she has been missing her adult life.
When she was eight she lost much of her palette, and most of her upper left jaw and teeth.
Merrifield has been diagnosed with cancer three times.
She sang at the Watershed Church on Central Avenue with only half of her oral cavity in place Sunday morning.
