CONCORD, N.C. — Mac’s Speed Shop has expanded its footprint with a Concord restaurant.

The popular barbecue joint has quietly opened at 8021 Concord Mills Blvd. — formerly home to Sticky Fingers. The roughly 7,000-square-foot restaurant is just off Interstate 85 at the Speedway Boulevard exit. That makes it neighbors with Concord Mills mall and Charlotte Motor Speedway.

“We just kind of opened the doors and ran with it,” says Tony Salerno, president of Mac’s Hospitality Group.

Expansion in Concord was a natural step for the brand, which is centered around beer, bikes and barbecue. Salerno notes Mac’s already has locations in South End, Steele Creek, Lake Norman and Matthews locally.

Salerno says the Mac’s brand is poised for growth, with at least to more locations already in the works.
