MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Lowe’s Cos. Inc. is taking pet friendly to a new level.
The Mooresville-based retailer has long allowed dogs in its stores. Now, it has teamed up with Petco Health and Wellness Co. Inc. on a store-in-store model to deliver a one-stop shop for home improvement and pet supplies.
The companies will pilot that program at stores in Texas and the Carolinas.
The first site — a 1,000-square-foot space — will debut in Alamo Ranch, Texas, in early February. Plans are to roll that initiative out to 14 stores by the end of March.
