CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Mooresville-based Lowe’s plans to move its corporate hangar from Statesville to the Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
Most of the retail giant’s senior leaders live in Charlotte, where corporate meetings take place.

The hangar lease agreement is on the Charlotte City Council’s agenda for Monday night.
Lowe’s wants to enter a ground lease agreement with Charlotte for 20 years.

Lowe’s will reimburse taxpayers for its share of site preparation and will bear the cost of construction, according to city documents.
The move would happen within one year.
