CONCORD, N.C. — An ultra-low-cost carrier disclosed plans Wednesday to spend $50 million in establishing a new base of operations at the Concord airport.
Allegiant Travel Co. said it expects to open the aircraft base — its 21st nationwide — at Concord-Padgett Regional Airport on Oct. 7, creating at least 66 new jobs. Allegiant Air will begin immediately hiring pilots, flight attendants, mechanics and ground personnel to support the operations.
Average wages for the positions will be $84,000, according to Concord City Council documents.
