CHARLOTTE — A lucky winner in Charlotte won a $1 million prize from a scratch-off ticket, the North Carolina Education Lottery announced on Tuesday.
The NC lottery says Angelita Blackstock bought a $30 Millionaire Maker ticket from a convenience store on Brookshire Boulevard, and she unveiled the top prize.
Blackstock claimed her prize on Monday, according to lottery officials. She ended up choosing a lump sum payout of $600,000 and took home $427,509 after taxes.
Lottery officials have previously told Channel 9 that most people do take the lump sum.
