Mom watches in horror as logging truck nearly hits daughter boarding bus

LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. — A logging truck swerved off a Lancaster County road Wednesday morning, nearly hitting a child boarding a school bus.

Video shows the student getting on a school bus and moments later an out-of-control logging truck races behind her and onto the grass she had just been standing on.

The bus was stopped on Flat Rock Road to pick up Andrew Jackson High School students.

There was another logging truck stopped in the road, because the bus’s stop arm was extended and its lights were on.

Investigators said the second logging truck couldn't stop in time and went off the road to avoid crashing into the stopped logging truck.

The child's mother watched it all unfold from the front window of her home.

“Obviously, he wasn’t paying attention, but my child’s irreplaceable,” Kristen Adams said.

Troopers said because no one was hurt, and the logging truck driver did everything he could to avoid a disaster, no charges will be filed.
