CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Some students across the Charlotte area will start school with a new laptop.
Nonprofit, Eliminate the Digital Divide, partnered with AvidXchange and Lowe’s on Saturday for its eighth annual mega back-to-school drive.
Lowe’s is helping with the cost of 400 laptops for the event. They paid $50 toward all laptops so parents only had to pay $25 instead of $75 to get one for their children.
“It’s truly a blessing, truly a blessing and truly helpful for the students to get the supplies they need for next week to start school,” a mother said.
Eliminate the Digital Divide’s mission is to make sure every Charlotte-Mecklenburg student has the technology they need at home for academic success.
