CHARLOTTE, N.C. — It’s officially giving season, and one local organization wants to make sure no one is without a coat this winter.
On Saturday, Blissfully Humble gave out 1,500 coats at Mulberry Baptist Church. There was a wide range of coats from baby to adult sizes.
The founder of Blissfully Humble said this is something they will keep doing.

“Every year going forward, we’ll be doing the coat drive because wintertime is a tough time and it’s not only for homeless people, but for people who have been out of jobs, and you know, unable to get themselves coats or there’s just such a tremendous need,” said Linda Turner, the founder of Blissfully Humble. “We want to give back because we feel so incredible blessed with our lives.”
The organization is also collecting toys for their toy drive. On Dec. 23, they will be back at Mulberry Baptist Church to give out at least $6,000 worth of toys.
Channel 9′s Chief Meteorologist Steve Udelson is also making sure children have warm coats this year. His annual Steve’s Coats for Kids Drive is underway. Learn more here.
