ROCK HILL, S.C. — Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper has already netted a $160 million incentives package from the state of South Carolina for the team’s new headquarters in Rock Hill. Tepper is now close to landing a deal with local governments that will more than double the value of financial incentives committed to move the team’s offices across the state line.
York County documents released on Thursday laid out more details about the incentives the Panthers are close to securing. And they are significant.
The documents detail $225 million in local government spending on infrastructure at the Panthers’ HQ site. The funding is expected to cover site work, road construction and many other project-related fees.
