CHARLOTTE — More families are relying on a local food pantry more than they did during the height of the pandemic.
Loaves and Fishes Friendship Trays said it fed more than 10,500 people in June 2023.
That is in comparison to the 97,000 people they served in June 2020.
“Our plea to the community is, for anyone who is not hurting, please do a food drive for us. Even if it means extra food from your garden,” Executive Director Tina Postel said.
>> Channel 9′s Gina Esposito delved into the reason behind the increased need, in the video at the top of the page.
