CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Saturday, more than one thousand local children will receive critical help just in time for the start of school.
From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Camino Community Center in Northeast Charlotte will be giving out school supplies and backpacks.
The center hopes to provide 1,500 free backpacks and school supplies to low-income or uninsured families.
Children will also be able to receive free physicals.
