Local chef cooks up plans for spot in FreeMoreWest

CHARLOTTE — Charlotte restaurateur and chef Sam Hart is shaking things up.

Hart has signed a deal for 5,218 square feet at White Point Partners’ Salt + Vinegar adaptive-reuse project in the area known as FreeMoreWest, just west of center city.

He plans to move his existing concept, Counter-, from its current spot at 2200 Thrift Road, home to The City Kitch. A sister concept called Biblio is planned. Both are slated to open in August.

“When we first opened Counter-, we knew it was a temporary space,” Hart says. “We looked forward to the day we could find a permanent home.”
