Local BBQ joint Mac’s Speed Shop revs up expansion plans

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Mac’s Speed Shop is narrowing in on sites to expand its portfolio.

The restaurant group is currently working on deals in the Carolinas, Tennessee and Florida. The goal is to open two new locations by year end, says Shang Skipper, president of Charlotte-based Mac’s Hospitality Group, the restaurant’s parent company.

“We are aggressively looking and beginning to grow our pipeline of future growth,” he says.
