Local bakery BW Sweets expanding into South End

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Despite ongoing challenges brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, a local bakery that’s been featured on Food Network is cooking up expansion plans. BW Sweets Inc. detailed plans this week to open a larger flagship store in northeast Charlotte as well as a new shop in South End.

The company’s flagship store is moving to a space that’s just steps away from its current location on Milton Road.

The South End shop, expected to open in September, is on Winnifred Street.
