Creator of Cupcakes with Compassion and owner of Sweet Pavilion, Vanessa Sencherey, knows the feeling of loss all too well; she lost her son five years ago.
“On the first Mother’s Day after losing him, I remember a friend, a family friend from back home, texted Happy Mother’s Day, and I was so angry,” Sencherey said. “I didn’t feel like a mother, even though some people said I was. I didn’t feel like a mother.”
