GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — At least one person died after a small plane crashed in Guilford County Tuesday, deputies told ABC affiliate WXLV.

It happened around noon near Highway 421 at the Randolph County line. Deputies said at least one person died, but it is unclear whether that person was on board the plane or on the ground at the time of the crash.
The southbound lanes of the highway were closed near Company Mill Road while authorities investigated, WXLV reported.
No further information was released.
