CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A former prominent Charlotte eye doctor who recently shut down his practice is facing more legal troubles.
Channel 9 learned that there are now four former employees suing Dr. Jonathan Christenbury, claiming that he has not paid them for bonuses they’re owed or accrued time off.
The civil lawsuit, filed Thursday, alleges that Christenbury violated North Carolina’s Wage and Hour Act, and also includes claims of fraud.
“This organization and the people running it have taken advantage of employees in many ways, and in this case, it's taking advantage of them by making unauthorized deductions and not paying them in full or on time,” the plaintiffs’ attorney, Meg Maloney, said.
