Channel 9 learned the state is investigating whether there is a link between embezzlement allegations and utility bills in Landis.
Christine York, 90, said high utility bills have forced her to do everything she can to save power.
"I don't burn my lights after dark. I go in my room and turn my TV on,” York said. "I don't take a shower every day."

Last week, Channel 9 reported the former town manager and finance director were accused of embezzling hundreds of thousands of dollars.
State Sen. Carl Ford told Channel 9 he’s gotten many complaints about Landis and said there is an investigation in the works to figure out if the bills are connected to charges.
“I absolutely do and there actually is already. That has been brought into the picture now,” Carl Ford said.
