LAKE NORMAN, N.C. — The Lake Norman home market ended 2020 with a bang.

A Cornelius residence sold for $6.6 million on Dec. 30. That set a record as the highest-priced home sale for that lakeside community 20 miles north of Charlotte, eclipsing the town’s previous top-priced residential sale of $5.25 million on Oct. 30.

The $6.6 million sale also marked a record as the most expensive Mecklenburg County closing that’s been listed in the local Multiple Listing Service, Canopy MLS confirmed this week.

The waterfront home, at 11,672 square feet, includes seven bedrooms and eight-and-a-half bathrooms. Its high-end features include multi-stacking doors that open to outdoor balconies on two levels, an expansive chef’s kitchen, an elevator, a themed theater room with a snack bar, a lower level game and lounge area, playrooms and an indoor slide, a pet room with custom-built kennels and a six-car garage. The 0.8-acre lot also has an in-ground trampoline, an infinity pool and expansive lounging areas. The property leads out to a covered pier and boat lift.
