CHARLOTTE — Krispy Kreme Inc. is testing the market’s appetite for broader sales of its doughnuts, selling them through big chains including Target Corp.
The Charlotte-based doughnut maker has partnered with Target and other big brands, including Walmart Inc. and McDonald’s Corp. in the program, called Delivered Fresh Daily.

As the name suggests, the strategy involves shipping fresh doughnuts daily to retailers to stock on store shelves. Krispy Kreme executives outlined the plan on a call with analysts last week.
