General Election - November 3, 2020

Key Dates in North Carolina:

September 4, 2020 - Absentee by mail ballots will start being mailed to voters who have requested a ballot.

October 9, 2020 - The voter registration deadline for the 2020 general election.

October 15, 2020 - The early voting period for the 2020 general election begins. Eligible individuals may register to vote during this period.

October 27, 2020 - The absentee by-mail ballot request deadline. Civilian voters must request an absentee ballot by mail by 5 p.m.

October 31, 2020 - The end of early voting for the 2020 general election.

November 3, 2020 - The 2020 General Election takes place. Polls open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m.

November 12, 2020 - UOCAVA ballot return deadline.

Key Dates in South Carolina:

October 2, 2020 - Deadline to register to vote in person for General Election.

October 4, 2020 - Deadline to register to vote online or by fax or email for General Election.

October 5, 2020 - Deadline to register to vote by mail for General Election.

October 30, 2020 - Deadline to apply for absentee by mail ballot for General Election.

November 2, 2020 - Deadline to vote absentee in-person for General Election.

November 3, 2020 - The 2020 General Election takes place. Polls open 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
