The city is looking to reshape eight buildings along West Avenue that date back to the 1930s.
City officials want to restore some of the history of the buildings while making them more functional.
The buildings on Block One are directly across the street from the new Sports and Entertainment Venue that is under construction.
The proposed development would include a new Kannapolis Intimidators ballpark, new restaurants, a brewery, apartments, hotel and a parking deck.
