KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — The Kannapolis Fire Department is offering free non-certified CPR classes this month. The department’s goal is to train 200 people to do CPR in 2023.
On Saturday, the department hosted its first class.
“If you can do compressions, then you can do CPR essentially, so we’re trying to get that word out to as many members as possible and do some training on it so we can bring them in,” said Deputy Chief Kirk Beard. “We do person-to-person instruction, we do some video instruction, then we do some hands-on instruction.”

The next class will be held on June 24. Registration is full.
